Reading and discussion with Nils Westerboer

Moderator: Thomas Klingenmaier | Henry Meadows is twelve when the Earth dies. He travels with his father and siblings to Perm, a primeval moon in a distant solar system. Henry's mother has flown with another spaceship. She is eagerly awaited by the family. But suddenly there are more and more signs: she has already been here, a long time ago. And she has left a warning. With high-tech, mankind's first and only colony defies the nature of the moon Perm, which is fascinating and threatening at the same time. Here there are mountains jutting out into space, two kinds of night and a dangerous, invisible animal world. When Henry arrives, his new home is not yet "ready": The atmosphere is toxic and contains too little oxygen; without protection, staying outside is deadly. Something has prevented the terraforming of Perm. Henry's mother Mildred knows the reason. The scientist has decided not to fly with her children, but to wait for a new drive that will put her thousands of years ahead of her family. She wants to create the best possible world. To do so, she clashes with the powerful head of the company, who has a different goal. A battle breaks out that will decide the lives of Henry and his family - many thousands of years later.
