Mackefisch create something extraordinary. And not just because they play what feels like 20 instruments at the same time with four arms and legs - from self-made suitcase drums, a tap shoe stepping on rattles, cork plates and horns to banjo, guitar and a keyboard that combines accomplished piano playing with crazy synth sounds. Nor because their two-part vocals switch confidently between ravishingly beautiful and breathtakingly fast-paced. Or because it conveys incomparably funny, poetic and merciless lyrics.
