Malarina

Location:
Renitenztheater, Büchsenstr. 26, 70174 Stuttgart

Malarina has to think about something. Her fame has led to the tax office and social security constantly wanting absurd amounts of money from her. How convenient that she lives in Austria, a country without inheritance tax. Malarina is a bourgeois pseudo-feminist. She prefers to use the patriarchy to her advantage instead of wanting to smash it. So the trophy wife sets off in search of potential partners and dates her way through human history.

Jury statements:

"All respect." - Austrian Cabaret Prize 2022

"A cunning and punchy mix of applied ethnology, political satire and comedic reappraisal of the relationship between Austria and Serbia, which is characterized by pride and prejudice." - Salzburg Bull 2023

Malarina was born in Picka Materina, Serbia, without a highway connection. Her parents came to Austria as guest workers, their stay was supposed to be temporary until the Serbian economy recovered. When her parents finally gave up hope, they brought their children to Austria and raised them in beautiful Innsbruck. In 2011, Malarina finally fled to the capital of misanthropy, Vienna, so as not to disappoint Tyrolean expectations of friendliness any further. With her debut "Serben sterben langsam" (Serbs die slowly), Malarina attempted to contribute to international understanding between the Schwabos, Tschuschen and elite Tschuschen through cabaret. She was awarded a few prizes for this. "Trophäenraub" is Malarina's second cabaret program.
