When Jussi switches off the light in the evening, he hears a strange scratching sound. Right underneath him! Is there a monster under his bed? It really is! And it's a real one! But Manno the monster is not only not very scary, he's also quite nice - and that's exactly his problem: nobody is afraid of him, not even Jussi, even though he's a candidate in the "first-class wimp and scaredy-cat" category. Can Jussi of all people help Manno? He's got a lot on his plate himself: Dad always wants to study with him for school and the nasty boy in the house next door is annoying too. But there's no giving up, and soon a great plan is devised to help Jussi AND Manno.
