When we think of male choirs, we tend to think of traditional folk songs and conviviality rather than high art. But this is exactly what MannSingt! stands for, having once emerged from the Protestant Youth Choir of the Palatinate and now based in Baden-Württemberg. Under the direction of Fellbach cantor Manuel Knoll, the choir rehearses intensively to hone its expressiveness, precision and versatility. No wonder Mannsingt! received the highest possible score at the European Choir Games 2025, winning a gold medal! For us, the ensemble sings sacred and secular songs from different times and countries, including Silcher's Der Lindenbaum, an adaptation of Schubert's Winterreise.
