Marcel Mann - The unpeeled truth
The Hells Angels proudly call Marcel Mann "the testosterone bomb of German comedy".
This press release begins with a lie. Fortunately, the public with an eye for the obvious can quickly debunk it. This is often more difficult elsewhere at the moment. In times when clumsy narratives quickly form opinions, we need more sensitivity, classification and sometimes a different perspective.
This is where Marcel Mann comes in: In his new comedy program "The Unpeeled Truth", he takes his audience through the absurd world of social media in an interactive, witty and, above all, funny way, examining prejudices and, not least, questioning today's image of masculinity.
Yet the raised index finger remains absent from Marcel's smart suit. Instead, the Berliner inspires with black humor, a good pinch of self-irony and a cornucopia of colorful stories from his everyday life. As a master of affectionate sarcasm who grew up in a village and knew from an early age that he would rather play with Ken than Barbie, Marcel provides answers to recurring questions: "How long are you going to be gay? You'll never meet "the right one" that way!" Or: "Have you ever had a relationship with a woman?" Marcel knows that arguing about who was the most talented Spice Girl doesn't count.
The recurring exchanges with his Swabian mother also invite hearty bursts of laughter - and not just because of the dialect: Marcel's mother tried to sell a booklet of soldiers' stories from the Nazi era, which had ended up in the cellar via his great-grandfather, on eBay classifieds with no ill intent. When it was pointed out to her that this booklet was forbidden, she asked indignantly: "How am I supposed to know that? I'm more like Inga Lundström and Rosamunde Pilcher. Besides, the writing was really tiny anyway." In return, she provides the answer to the shift to the right in parts of society: "You're not racist. It's rude!"
Of course, Marcel Mann is also aware of his service mission. So the "friendly feminist from the neighborhood" answers every question from the audience. EVERY ONE! And spontaneously provides competent life advice, making every show unique with his mixture of cute malice and cheerful sophistry. He offers refreshing life hacks for all situations in life. But beware: he can also ask questions back! "If you're in a relationship, who are you? The woman or the man?"
Marcel: "If I show you two spoons, which one is the fork?"
Marcel Mann has won numerous (un)important cabaret awards and is his mother's favorite comedian (this statement has not yet been confirmed). In addition to his stage career, he is the voice actor of German comedy, who has now lent his voice to around four hundred roles for film and television.
Marcel Mann himself says about his new program: "I can't bear the consequences of my statements, but only because I generally can't bear that much. But no matter how hard life is, you should try to make a bonus out of every malus. Nothing that is bad should stay bad, and this is exactly the attitude behind my new program."
