Spring reading with Ulrike Goetz in two parts
Elisabeth, a young woman from a working-class family, grows up in a society shaped by ideology. Unknowingly at first, she succumbs to the influences of propaganda, the pressure to conform and the desire to belong. When she meets the SA man Erwin at a rally, her life seems perfect. But through personal experiences and inner conflicts, she increasingly begins to question the official slogans and social structures. In her novel, exiled author Maria Leitner impressively depicts the life of a young woman during the National Socialist era.
