What exactly "Matria" means is an open question - whether Ukrainian, Allgäu or the other way around. What remains is the promise of hope, belief in a better future and, above all, musical fun on stage. Duo Matria unites the Ukrainian singer, pianist and composer Tamara Lukasheva with the Allgäu trumpeter and multi-instrumentalist Matthias Schriefl, who are both masters of their craft. Tamara Lukasheva's career has taken her through major concert halls around the world for years, and her current pieces bear the burden of the war in Ukraine and tell of the people there. But despite all the tragedy, it is important to both of them that humor and lightness are also given space in the music - music thrives on all facets of emotion.
