Matthias Walz

Matthias Walz is actually really nice. It's only when something upsets him that he can get angry. And there are many things that upset him. Especially in politics. As the star of "Fastnacht in Franken", the show with the highest ratings of any third program in Germany, Matthias Walz regularly tells off the assembled political celebrities. The result is collective gasps: from the politicians, because they have to put on a good face. And the rest of the audience because they almost fall off their chairs laughing.
Lounging casually at the piano, the man in the green suit gets to the heart of his ingenious train of thought musically and makes his audience laugh with wit, charm and understanding - and sometimes even makes them think. No human abyss is alien to him, no truth too direct. His subtle powers of observation and sharp-tongued eloquence can only be due to his sound training - many years of self-taught apprenticeship in the pub culture, lovingly underpinned by university studies in computer science, physics and linguistics.
Matthias Walz is a wanderer between worlds. And an entertainer with attitude. That's why it's quite possible that one or the other laugh will get stuck in their throat. Because Matthias Walz wants to be like Santa Claus: you look forward to seeing him, but you're always a little scared of what's to come. But to reassure you: Matthias Walz feels the same way about you. And you're not really angry either. Aren't you?
