Meena Cryle & The Chris Fillmore Band

The songwriting team Cryle/Fillmore has been one of the most successful Austrian music exports in the international blues'n'roots scene for many years. On the Lab stage, they show that they are in a league of their own.

At the age of sixteen, Meena Cryle and Chris Fillmore met on a train, recognized musical similarities and did the inevitable: they formed a band. The expressive, versatile singer, who is also more than competent on the strings, and the gifted guitarist, whose almost somnambulistic ease on his instrument fascinates every time anew. It is no coincidence that Grammy-winning producer legend Jim Gaines could not escape the fascination of Meena & The Chris Fillmore Band on their previous albums. "She's got the voice and she's got the passion," was his unerring verdict. And his client list includes names such as Santana, Miles Davis, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Van Morrison.
The two are accompanied by two legends: Angus Thomas on bass, who played in Miles Davis' band, among others, and Lenny Dickson on drums, whose work can be heard on an album by Tom Waits, among others.
