The Stuttgart formation "Hölderlin Spoken Word Band" around stage poet Timo Brunke
celebrates the spoken word with a variety of musical means. Saxophone, guitar, looper and drums perform and jam with the poet's voice; musical dramas in miniature format are created, everyday speech acts become acoustic aha experiences, comedy and profundity kiss each other.
In the stage jazz program for his new volume of poetry "Mitteleuropapperlapapp", the
spoken word poet plucks at the curtains of reality, lifts them gently - and lo and behold:
between the lovingly maintained backdrops of our coexistence, little remains
as it was. What's more, hardly anything was ever as it seemed. But that doesn't matter: we
are making new arrangements - and in the midst of transition! The morality tales, snapshots and reflections on people collected here help us to do so. They amuse, create closeness, distance and new approaches to the familiar. Told ideas of life shimmer in rhymes and verses of smug affection. Voices from open-plan offices, streets and squares meet inner monologues from neighbors, opponents and best friends.
The popcorn of these pieces is eloquent. An evening for ballad fans and Beethoven lovers, physics buffs, Dada connoisseurs and beautiful souls, despite all the current trends. Profound poetry-easy listening.
