MOKAS (presented by HMDK Stuttgart)

subtle, thoughtful & discovering - when Lukas Köhler and Moritz Rummel formed MOKAS at the beginning of this year, these three attributes became the signposts for the two friends' new project.

In their own songs, they explore the musical diversity of their instruments and use their lyrics to talk about everything that life and the world throw at you every day. Sometimes emphatic & passionate; sometimes sober & critical. Always honest and authentic - limited to what the current moment needs.

After a good six months of playing & discovering, many concerts and a small summer tour, the character of MOKAS can best be described as "lyrical jazz", characterized by songwriters and singer-songwriters of different generations and styles. For the concert at BIX, they are bringing some friends on stage with them: MOKAS have expanded into a sextet, wrapping their songs in a sometimes groovy pop guise - a pleasant respite in today's mainstream.
