Published in 1973, the fantastic novel "Momo" by Michael Ende is about the adventure of a courageous and determined little girl who is called to save humanity from the greatest fraud ever perpetrated on it. One day, the Grey Lords appear in the town where Momo lives. They are time agents from the Time Savings Bank who encourage their unsuspecting customers to save minutes, hours, days and years.

Suddenly everything speeds up and all people have only profit in mind. A dark cloud envelops the whole city and for all those who fall into the trap, the days become hectic and joyless. With the help of Master Hora and the turtle Cassiopeia, Momo takes on the Grey Lords in order to give mankind back the only wealth it has: time.
