Musik am Mittag extended - G.B. Pergolesi, Stabat mater

As part of the "Musik am Mittag" series, the concert choir of the Mädchenkantorei under the direction of Lydia Schimmer will be performing the legendary 'Stabat mater' by the Neapolitan composer Giovanni Battista Pergolesi in the Cathedral Church of St. Eberhard on March 28 at 12:05. It's well worth it!

Giovanni Battista Pergolesi's 'Stabat mater' is one of the best-known settings of the Latin medieval poem in which the anguished mother of Jesus expresses her sorrow at the crucifixion of Jesus. Pergolesi composed it towards the end of his life for soprano and alto voices, strings and basso continuo.
