During the Seven Years' War (1756-1763), the Württemberg court under Duke Carl Eugen was one of the most artistically glamorous in Europe. The flagship was the court opera under the direction of the famous Neapolitan Niccolò Jomelli. The chamber music divertissement also enjoyed great popularity.
