Our guest in the first Salon of the season is a musicologist and presenter who, together with Michael Maul, enlightens and entertains Bach fans with the popular MDR KLASSIK podcasts "Die Bach-Kantate" and "Bach-Kanal", among others. This time we meet him at the Stuttgart Museum of Musical Instruments to talk about the motets of J. S. Bach. Bach composed these technically demanding vocal works for various occasions, but their sources are often incomplete. In addition to their place in Bach's oeuvre and tradition, the latest hypotheses on their origin will be discussed.
