Beethoven & beyond with the Olivia Trummer Trio at the Gustav-Siegle-Haus

BEETHOVEN | Improvisations

Olivia Trummer Trio:
Olivia Trummer, piano & vocals
Makar Novikov, double bass
Amir Bresler, drums

Beethoven was a master of improvisation and delighted Viennese audiences with his fantasizing on the piano. In memory of this, we have invited Olivia Trummer and her trio. Born in 1985 into a family of musicians in Stuttgart, she began her classical piano training at the age of 4 and discovered her curiosity to express herself through improvisation and composition. She studied jazz piano and classical piano at the Musikhochschule in Stuttgart, graduating with honors in both and continuing her jazz piano studies at the Manhattan School of Music in New York. Her years in the jazz metropolis and her close relationship to classical music serve as sources of inspiration. As a soloist and with her trio, she also attracts attention as a singer and successfully combines jazz with her songwriting. She has received many awards, including the prestigious Baden-Württemberg Jazz Prize. Tours have taken her through Europe, to Israel, the USA and to major festivals from Montréal to Beijing. Bridging the gap between jazz and classical music is an integral part of her versatile musical work.

A cooperation with the Forum am Schlosspark Ludwigsburg.
