After the victory over Troy, Odysseus only wants one thing: to return to his wife Penelope and his son Telemachus.

But the gods have other plans.

On his journey home, he fights Cyclops, resists the Sirens, defies the wrath of Poseidon, wanders through the seas, loses companions, hope and almost himself.
And yet he never gives up.
His longing for home is stronger than any storm.
The Cologne composer Max Bruch has transformed this ancient story of searching, fighting and returning home into a powerful oratorio:

In 2026, we are bringing this work to the stage together with choirs from Stuttgart, Leipzig and Bonn, accompanied by Ensemble scatenato, an ensemble of musicians from professional Stuttgart orchestras.
Over 200 singers bring the myth to life with sound, power and emotion.
