AcpLyricist (Olcayto Harman, 25) combines hip-hop with painting to develop an independent, interdisciplinary world of images and sounds. Born in Ulm, he has been working on his project "Klagelieder Komponist" since 2024, which comprises a rap album and a series of oil paintings. The series of paintings, consisting of works in a wide variety of formats, is based both thematically and atmospherically on the content and sound of the album.

The vision of the exhibition is to experience the music through the connection with art. As if the viewer were actually standing in the album - a visual thinking space is created in which the album can be a dark companion.
"Klagelieder Komponist" will be released on February 24, 2026 and is characterized by a dark tonality. The concept of the album is already in the title. Olcayto takes on the role of the lament composer and offers lyrics that emerge from the darkness to accompany them. Lamentations - cries into the darkness without claiming an answer.

An acceptance that gives rise to reflections on human emotional abysses. For grief and pain are emotions as old as humanity itself, yet so young and new in every form in which they are experienced and lived anew. The melodies and lyrics move between autobiographical allusions and abstract motifs. They open up spaces for interpretation that take up universal human experiences without losing sight of the artist's perspective. These complex trains of thought are processed into metaphors in poetic texts, which can be recognized as images in the oil paintings.

What is created in the song through the harmony between beat and voice is continued in the paintings: sound becomes color, atmosphere becomes form, metaphors become motifs. The works turn the emotionally inward moment of the music outwards and allow the boundaries between sound, feeling and image to merge.

The result is a multimedia, immersive exhibition - an invitation to experience music, painting and space as a coherent experience.
