Open Studios “Werkzeuge für Alle!”

Under the motto "Tools for everyone", the Werkstatthaus is opening its diverse workshops to all interested parties on Saturday, May 24 from 12:00 to 18:00 and offering a glimpse behind the scenes of the studios. Delicious food and drinks will be served.

Timetable Open Studios

Guided tours:
At 14:00 and 16:30, house manager Thorsten Neumann invites you to a public tour of the Werkstatthaus and provides exciting insights into the rooms and working methods.

Program workshops:

Photo workshop:
Three times a day you can experience the development of pictures live in the darkroom. Due to limited places, there is a registration list in the photo studio.

Screen printing & risography:
Observe the screen printing process all day long, from the stencil to the finished print. An artist will accompany the open screen printing and will be available to answer questions. The Riso Crash Course runs from 14:00 to 17:00.

Etching:
"Etching live" - the workshop manager provides insights into the alchemical processes of copperplate printing.

Sculpting:
Insight into the preparation of the next bamboo bike course - here a functional, sustainable bike frame is made from bamboo.

Media workshop:
12:00-15:30: Digital Painting - Capturing life in a digital sketchbook
Learn how to capture fleeting moments in life with drawing and painting - with a special focus on people.

16:00-18:00: ElectricSheep - Getting started & switching to Linux
Simple introduction to the free Linux operating system, its distributions and tools for everyday life, studio and workshop.

Textiles & fashion:
13:00-16:00: Repair Café
Repair your favorite items or create new upcycling projects from flea market finds - under the guidance of a seamstress/fashion designer. Learn tricks for sustainable fashion.

12:00-18:00: Open knitting workshop
Discover how to work on flatbed hand knitting machines - watch and join in.

Rosmarin Bar in the neighborhood garden:
Open from 12:00 - from 15:00 with stick bread.
