On 26 April 2026, the musician Magnus Dauner will perform at the Laboratorium cultural center and, together with the participants of the Ziryab Academy, present how groove, rhythmic language and performance can merge into a musical form of expression.
As part of the master class on Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25, 2026, Magnus Dauner will not only share his musical skills, but also work together with the Ziryab Academy on the concert on Sunday, April 26, 2026. The audience can therefore look forward to a great fusion of sound worlds. As always, it will be an evening full of musical diversity, with the focus on the interplay between artists and cultures - far beyond a solo performance.
The Open World Music Stage is a series of events organized by the Ziryab Academy that provides musicians from the region with in-depth training in global pop and contemporary performance. An important component of the lessons is the master class that precedes the Open World Music Stage and in which the musical focuses of the respective star guests are taught.
Registration for the master class with Magnus Dauner is also possible for interested musicians who are not taking part in the Ziryab Academy.
Magnus Dauner is a drummer, percussionist and composer. He is known for his cross-genre playing and his intensive exploration of global rhythm traditions. After studying jazz at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich, he deepened his knowledge of South Indian rhythms (konnakol and mridangam) at the Karnataka College of Percussion in India.
