Christian Gotthilf Tag, born in 1735, was a Protestant cantor and composer. He worked very modestly as a church musician in the small Saxon town of Hohenstein. He was one of the most capable organists, experts and composers of his time and devoted himself entirely to the late Baroque tradition. He died in 1811.
The service is complemented by monophonic German liturgical chants.
