Presentation and reading: Matthias Wieland | Scenarist Paul Karasik is the driving force behind all three comic adaptations of Paul Auster's celebrated New York trilogy. Karasik had already created a groundbreaking comic with David Mazzucchelli in City of Glass, about which Paul Auster himself felt that the comic was closer to the novel than a film adaptation. Behind Closed Doors was adapted and drawn by Paul Karasik himself. In conversation with Matthias Wieland, who will also be doing one of his famous comic readings from the work, he will give an insight into the creation of the graphic novel trilogy.
