Paul Dwyer is a musician who combines Scottish folklore with Anatolian music. Dressed in traditional Scottish clothing and carrying a guitar, he has toured 75 provinces in Anatolia performing Turkish folk songs. Over three years, he also produced 120 documentary films about Turkish culture.
Paul, who has lived in Istanbul for 34 years, has more than 35 years of experience as a musician, producer and TV presenter. He has received several awards for his contribution to cultural promotion. With his band The Bandits and guest musicians such as Ali Koç and Halil Çeşmecioğlu, he takes part in the Over the Border Festival, where he presents a mix of Anatolian and international folk songs.
In addition to his own music, Paul has worked as a producer for artists such as Zülfü Livaneli and uses social media to share his interpretations and arrangements.
