Rafaela is at a school camp with her class. After watching the movie "The Children of Monsieur Mathieu" one evening, a discussion develops about school then and now. Rafaela suggests going into the plot of the movie and transferring it to the present day. Everyone joins in and slips into the appropriate roles: After her traineeship, Aurelia Fernandez is looking forward to her new job at a boarding school. She is to teach music there. But she soon realizes that there are deep rifts between the students and the teachers. Aurelia tries valiantly to maintain her position and also to act tactically clever towards the principal, Mrs. Schneider - no easy task for the young teacher. When she hears the children singing one night while she is on duty, the idea of using music to build a relationship with the children is born. The plan seems to work and peace at school is assured until a new pupil sits in front of Aurelia ...
