Philosophy meets hip-hop at the Geistesblitz festival: read, rapped and improvised texts, accompanied by saxophone and keyboard. With Nautilus, Kurtis Flow, Freedrich and Svumato, who combine philosophy, social criticism and groove.
When beats become thoughts and words become sparks:
Philosophy, hip-hop and spoken word come together as part of the Geistesblitz festival. Texts are read, rapped, improvised and musically accompanied by saxophone and keyboard.
Nautilus combines social criticism, philosophy and hip-hop to create a poetic sound between rap and spoken word.
Kurtis Flow plays with rhymes like hardly anyone else - using them to form mirrors of his world, of himself and to make his thoughts audible.
Freedrich moves between thinking and feeling, chaos and freedom - and sees saxophone improvisation as his form of philosophy.
Svumato is a multi-instrumentalist, producer and singer from Stuttgart. He mixes elements of jazz, jazz funk and indie, all with the leitmotif of strong dynamics and groove for his own sound.
An evening in which rhythm stimulates thought - and thought becomes rhythm.
