The podcasts in this archive focus on places and spaces, in-between spaces and niches beyond the usual dwellings. Here, travelers, wanderers, outcasts, lost people, seekers and restless people tell their stories.
All of the protagonists' reports lie outside the normal bourgeois experience of a 'home'.

All episodes of this podcast were created as documentary recordings in personal conversations. They make no claim to journalistic objectivity, to absolute factual accuracy, but are subjective memories that always have to do with one's own perception. This is about oral histories, about authentic stories and about making people's voices heard; each block deals with one person and consists of several episodes, each about 30 minutes long.

Uwe Kassai will talk to Peter Reinhardt and Mano Guttenberger at the Hotel Silber memorial site to kick off the second podcast "The Travelers"

Sinti have been a part of German society for centuries, but they are still treated with suspicion and the Z-word. The fact that they are still on the road today as travelers, as 'Landfahrer', is the exception rather than the rule. But Peter Reinhardt and Mano Guttenberger still dared to go on 'the journey', Peter Reinhardt at the end of the 1950s, Mano Guttenberger still today.

Peter Reinhardt, a Sinto from Stuttgart, grew up in Stuttgart and lived here for most of his life. He knows the Hotel Silber well. Also from violent and discriminatory encounters. In his youth, he met police officers there who his mother had known from the Nazi era and who had since returned to the police force.

In 7 episodes of Uwe Kassai's podcast "Archive of the Street", Peter Reinhardt reports on how he went on "The Journey" with his parents, starting in his earliest childhood.

His memories are interspersed with reports from the musician Mano Guttenberger, who still goes on "Die Reise".
