Bradford in West Yorkshire - a city in the rainy north of England that is truly not blessed with a warm, dry climate - inspired four dudes to create a very British version of sound ideas that actually originated a few decades earlier in sunny California: Despite the geographical distance, the band creates a sound that is deeply rooted in the desert rock tradition. The insular desert rockers unleash a fuzz-soaked riff hurricane and carve out thick walls of guitars, celebrate tempo shifts and skillfully plough the dynamic playing field when they add the raw energy of punk, a pinch of New Wave of British Heavy Metal and psychedelic rock from the 1960s and 70s to their American-style stoner rock. When KYUSS and FU MANCHU are mentioned here as influences and HAWKWIND and early PINK FLOYD are touched upon, a wild BLACK SABBATH vibe resonates, and not just in the guitar solos.
