The Freie Radio Orchester Stuttgart is an ensemble dedicated to freely improvised music. Founded in 2025, it currently consists of seven musicians whose different backgrounds contribute to an exciting, varied sound. FROSt goes on air every first Sunday on Free Radio for Stuttgart. In 60 minutes of broadcasting time, they philosophize about free improvisation and, of course, make music in small groups. New concepts are discussed, tried out and implemented together. The ensemble sound is tinkered with and the sound repertoire is constantly expanded. And all this live on the radio! Once a year there is a concert in the foyer of the Free Radio, and in future there will also be concerts outside of Stuttgart in which the Free Radio will be represented. Guest musicians will also be invited.
The Free Radio Orchestra consists of the following musicians:
Florian Vogel - violin
Tilman Schaal - trombone
Oliver Biella - guitar
Daniela Petry - double bass
Fried Dähn - cello
Anna-Sophie Dreyer - viola
Christof Wagner - trumpet
