Georg Philipp Telemann: Thunder Ode arranged by Johannes Kretz
Thunder is one of the loudest and most primal sounds in the world. As early as the 18th century, composers tried to explain the world around the concept of thunder. Thunder as a mighty expression of nature is always an image of the power of God and is described with the most powerful instruments (timpani, organ). The thunder that awakens everyone is often hoped for. In Telemann's work, the Thunder Ode, the two bass soloists sing: "He thunders that he may be glorified" and thus see the sound of nature as the voice of God! In this concert, the orchestra is replaced by electronic sounds, creating a very special kind of sound performance. Johannes Kretz will bring Telemann's Thunder Ode to life in his own way. You can expect spherical sounds and electro beats. Look forward to a concert of a special kind, in a special place and then dance into the evening at the after-show party.
