Requiem
- Location:
- Domkirche St. Eberhard, Königstraße 7a, 70173 Stuttgart
As a prelude to the upcoming feasts of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day, the St. Eberhard Cathedral Choir and the Schola Gregoriana will perform a concert on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 7 pm on the theme of farewell. The Requiem by Gabriel Fauré in the version for choir and organ will take center stage. Composed in 1888, the work is considered one of Fauré's best-known choral works and an outstanding example of 19th century French church music. The concert is complemented by chants from the Gregorian Missa pro defunctis, which in their simplicity form an exciting contrast to Fauré's romantic tonal language.
Performers: Cathedral Choir, Schola Gregoriana
Organ: Johannes Mayr
Conductor: Adam Krukiewicz
