RiotNow – Tag widerständiger Optimist:innen
- Location:
- Literaturhaus Stuttgart, Breitscheidstr. 4, 70174 Stuttgart
With Eren Akşahin, Fikri Anıl Altıntaş, Agnieszka Jastrzębska, Nesrin Tanç, Gün Tank, Ebru Taşdemir, Sakîna Têyna, Irina Vavitsa and Selma Wels
RiotNow artistically combines migrant labor struggles, the culture of remembrance and current social issues. The focus is on the question of how resistance works - then and now - and what knowledge from past struggles reaches into our present and future. Resistance is not a closed historical event, but should be understood as knowledge passed down through generations and as an attitude that makes change possible. RiotNow creates a shared resonance space for this: literature meets contemporary witness accounts, academic perspectives meet performative formats, music condenses memory into direct experience. History is not only told here, but made tangible to the senses. RiotNow invites you to listen and think ahead: as resistant optimists who draw strength for the future from the past. The program was curated by Gün Tank and Selma Wels.
