The Förderverein der Jungen Akademie Stuttgart is staging a revival of the musical "Robin Hood - For Love and Justice" at the Kulturwerk Stuttgart at Easter 2026.
"Robin Hood - For Love and Justice" is a musical by Martin Doepke (music), Andrea Friedrichs (book) and Hans Holzbrecher (book).
Experience the thrilling story of Robin of Locksley - known as Robin Hood - and his great love Marian, who have to fight hard for England and their love.
After King Richard the Lionheart is captured on his journey home from the Crusades, Robin of Locksley returns to England as a messenger to deliver the ransom demand of 100,000 silver marks. But what he finds there horrifies him to the core. The country is suffering under the rule of Richard's brother John and Isabelle, his power-hungry wife, the Bishop of Herford and the Sheriff of Nottingham. They squeeze the country and its people mercilessly. Robin is not listened to - the ransom is refused. When he is also forced to watch how mercilessly the poorest are treated, he sides with them, is ostracized and has to flee. His path leads him to Sherwood Forrest. There he meets Little John and his companions, who take him in after a few quarrels. Robin becomes the leader of the group and together they set out not only to help the poor, but also to collect the ransom for King Richard by robbing the rich of their gold.
During a raid, Robin meets Lady Marian again and the two become close in the robbers' camp. Robin and Marian fall in love, but their love is not under a good star, because Robin is a thorn in the side of those in power. An evil plan is hatched to get Robin out of the way and secure Lady Marian's hand in Nottingham. After fierce battles, lies, deceit and blackmail, Robin is finally captured, but the conspirators rejoice too soon - Robin is freed thanks to his companions, defeats Nottingham and saves Lady Marian from marriage to the monster Nottingham.
The bishop and John's wife are arrested and the way is clear for Robin and Marian to marry after all with King Richard's blessing.
You can look forward to an exciting musical with many twists and turns and thrilling music, an ensemble that brings the story to life with passion, real sword and stick fights live on stage, great ensemble scenes and a touching finale - good always wins in the end!
