Romy Schneider's place of refuge is Paris. She fled from Sissi, the German post-war mob, the paparazzi, superficiality, into the arms of this grandiose city for all exiles. But she also fled into the arms of various lovers and great films.
It is only partly about Romy. Rather, it is about how art endures everyday life, how it masters the balancing act between artist biography and everyday biography.

All three actors drive this theme forward in various scenes: somewhat excessively, with humor, but also with the necessary toughness.

Eva Maria Röhm plays a kind of Romy, not caring in the slightest about external resemblance.

Paris (Boris Rodriguez Hauck) follows in her footsteps: tender and merciless, he is divided in his pride at harboring artists and yet unable to prevent their tragic fate.

Jordan Djevic accompanies the scenes on the accordion, giving the music its space.
