What do an AfD voter and a climate activist have in common? The fear that the world as it is will end. A divided society, my ass! Whether right or left, "old white man" or young "woke" woman, cargo bike fan or anti-vaccination activist: we are united in our fear of a bleak future.
But Sarah Bosetti is not in the mood for fear and gloom. And she has a better idea! If we don't like the future as it's being painted, then we should paint a brighter one and work towards it. If nobody wants democracy anymore, we should not give up on it, but make it better.
"Make Democracy Great Again!" is a funny, biting and stirring plea to save democracy. Sarah Bosetti gives politicians communication lessons, invents the best fake news, writes reflective demo posters and shows why it is a privilege to be allowed to get up from the sofa.
Sarah Bosetti is a satirist, author, poet and reluctant feminist. She has already been awarded the Grimme Prize, the German Television Prize, the German Cabaret Prize, the Joachim Ringelnatz Prize for Poetry and the Dieter Hildebrandt Prize, among others. She writes and presents the monthly late night show "Bosetti Late Night" (3sat), the weekly satire format "Bosetti will reden!" (ZDF) and the extra3 podcast "Bosettis Woche" (NDR) and is regularly on live tour throughout the German-speaking world.
