How do the voices of ancient tragedies resonate in our present day? What stories of loss, resistance, and hope connect people across countries, cultures, and millennia? *The Shadows* sets out to explore the invisible connections between mythological female figures and the experiences of people living today amid war, violence, and social upheaval.
Drawing on documented life stories, Afsaneh Mahian develops a powerful theatrical narrative in which the fates of three women intertwine with the archetypal figures of Jocasta, Antigone, and Medea. Between myth and reality, a poetic space emerges in which personal memories become universal stories. *The Shadows* tells of loss and resistance, but also of the unshakable human strength to preserve one’s dignity even under the most difficult conditions.
