We've got something good: For the first "Something's Up! Soulnighter", "Something's Up!" organizers Jürgen Dobelmann (Soulstüble, Soulboy Social) and Denis Schlosser are bringing three of the most renowned soul DJs to Stuttgart and giving the city's (Northern) soul fans a kind of legendary reunion.
On June 21, Martin Walgenbach and Reimar Limmer, co-founders of the legendary Bamberg SoulShakers Soulweekender, and Reinhard Jellen, legendary publisher of the first German Northern Soul fanzine "Heart And Soul", among others, will hold the needles in the super-rare vinyl.
For Stuttgart, Denis Schlosser himself and the no less legendary Duke JensOmatic (Horse Soul Club, Club Miaow, Apollo25 etc.) will be at the start, congenially completing the 1A tip-top line-up.
To get you in the mood for "The long night of Northern, Motown and Modern Soul", the British genre classic "Northern Soul" will be shown for the first time in Stuttgart at 6:30 pm in the Atelier am Bollwerk (ten minutes' walk from the Kulturbunker). The 2014 film (starring Steve Coogan and Lisa Stansfield, among others), which is shown in its original version with subtitles, won director Elaine Constantine a BAFTA Award and was named best film of the year by the NME.
