This is the motto under which bandleader Obi Jenne unites the "All Star Band" Soul Diamonds, which he founded in 2009. A highly virtuosic and interesting composition of the best musicians from jazz, blues, R&B, pop and soul jazz based in the metropolitan region of Baden-Württemberg's state capital merges into what is probably Stuttgart's most notorious soul band.
The members have enjoyed a very long, intensive, respectful and friendly collaboration with a great deal of joy and the aim of constantly inspiring their audience anew. In addition to the monthly cult gigs at the beautiful BIX jazz club, the band also performs at festivals and at private and public events.
The passion of all band members is soul/ R&B/ soul jazz from the 60s to the 90s. Far removed from current fashion trends, the program is dedicated to the classics of funk and soul, jazz and blues, including songs by Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin, Prince, Les McCann, Grover Washington Jr., James Brown and many more.
In addition to the impressive virtuosity of the musicians, the focus is always on fun, unbridled musical joy meets "platinum" award-winning songs, unforgettable classics are interpreted in captivating versions and grooves. Endlessly beautiful vocal magic alternates with breathtaking improvisation, the band members constantly inspire each other in a tasteful and entertaining way. And so every evening remains an unforgettable and unique highlight.
