Charles Baudelaire: Poems in prose
Grandiose puppet theater
Michael Vogel is one of the world's most sought-after puppet theater actors and directors. Charlotte Wilde is one of Germany's most unconventional and experienced theater musicians. Her productions (including "[exit", "Toccata", "Maria on the Rope", "The Hobbit", "A Midsummer Night's Dream - Reorganized") are among the highlights of this genre. The source of inspiration for this production is one of the milestones of literary modernism: Charles Baudelaire's prose-poem cycle "The Spleen of Paris".
The French poet describes the dark side of modernity, the failure of people and utopias, the longing for life, eroticism and death in a radically subjective way. The result is a sensual, subversive, highly musical tapestry, an associative round dance of individual images, songs and scenic miniatures, inhabited and dominated by figures of "stunning expressiveness" (LV) - tender, vulnerable, voluptuous, deadly tired and life-hungry protagonists of a perishing, darkly beautiful world.
