From May 5 to 10, 2026, Stuttgart will be the central meeting place for animated film, filmmakers and audiences every day from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. At ITFS, international animation art once again meets the regional creative scene, film education and industry promotion.
The ITFS celebrates artistic animation in all its facets - from competitions and curated film programs to workshops, talks and open-air screenings.
This year's focus is on the silhouette technique. The ITFS is thus paying tribute to film pioneer Lotte Reiniger and celebrating the 100th anniversary of the oldest surviving feature-length animated film THE ADVENTURES OF PRINCE ACHMED.
Young ITFS offers specific activities for children, young people, families and educational institutions: films, workshops, hands-on activities and educational formats impart knowledge and invite visitors to actively experience, question and get creative with animated film.
