SWR Fernsehturm Stuttgart - Jahreskarte Erwachsenentarif

Duration

60 minutes

When the SWR television tower was opened in Stuttgart in 1956, it stood out in many respects: it was the world's first television tower built of reinforced concrete, was the first broadcasting mast with a viewing platform and restaurant to represent a new type of structure and, at 217 meters, was one of the tallest buildings in the world. No wonder it triggered a global TV tower construction boom at the time! It served as a model for many TV towers, from the Space Needle in Seattle to the Sentech Tower in Johannesburg and the Guishan TV tower in Wuhan.

Even today, this masterpiece of engineering still impresses with its linear and elegant aesthetics. It is the most striking landmark in the state capital and has become an integral part of the cityscape and the hearts of Stuttgart's residents. The viewing platforms at a height of 150 m and 153 m offer a unique 360-degree view over Stuttgart and the vineyards of the Neckar Valley as far as the Swabian Alb, the Black Forest and the Odenwald. This view from Stuttgart's highest vantage point is an unforgettable experience at any time of year. It is not without reason that the TV tower is a popular place for a first date or marriage proposal. The panorama café in the tower basket and the Leonhardts restaurant at the foot of the tower, whose terrace invites you to relax in the green countryside in summer, cater for your physical well-being. Perhaps you would like to book one of the culinary packages with a view - such as the romantic champagne breakfast for two, the tower dinner or Sunday lunch for the whole family? Visit the website of Restaurant Leonhardt.

The youngest visitors will love the playground right at the entrance. With the tower rally map, they can find out lots of exciting things about Stuttgart's number one landmark on the way from the TV tower store to the viewing platform. Anyone who answers all the questions can look forward to a small gift. The tower rally card is available for 3.50 euros in the TV tower store. It is also worth browsing there for iconic TV tower souvenirs or a special gift for adults.

Accessibility: The viewing platform is not completely barrier-free. For structural reasons, there is an approx. 10 cm high step at the entrance, but this is easy to negotiate with an accompanying person. Particularly large wheelchairs (e.g. electric wheelchairs) may not fit through the doors to the viewing platform. Please call 0711 929 14743 to find out the dimensions. The balustrade on the viewing platform restricts the view for wheelchair users who cannot stand up. As an alternative, we recommend a visit to the Panoramacafé, which is barrier-free and the window front there also offers a view from a seated position.
