Location:
Stadtmuseum Bad Cannstatt, Marktstraße (Ca) 71, 70372 Stuttgart
Date
September 14, 2025, 11:00 AM

On 14.9.2025, the Klösterle, Stuttgart's oldest residential building (1463), will open its rarely accessible upper floors with Renaissance stucco ceiling to guided groups. The Bad Cannstatt City Museum is showing the "Panorama Cannstatt" exhibition and the special exhibition on the equestrian monument to King Wilhelm I. Registration required!

Next to the Bad Cannstatt City Museum is the Klösterle, the oldest former residential building in Stuttgart that has been completely preserved from the cellar to the roof truss since 1463.

On the Open Monument Day on 14.9.2025, there will be the opportunity to visit the otherwise inaccessible rooms on the upper floors of the Klösterle, which was restored in an exemplary manner in the 1980s, in guided small groups between 11 am and 5 pm, including the Bohlenstube and the so-called chapel with a Renaissance stucco ceiling and a colorful coat of arms stone of the former owner family Wacker, dated 1576.

Important: For reasons of space, the tour is only possible by appointment: e-mail: info@proaltcannstatt.de, telephone: 0711 267039.

The Bad Cannstatt City Museum in the Klösterlescheuer opens at 11 a.m. on this day (closes at 6 p.m.). The permanent exhibition "Panorama Cannstatt" shows the different facets of Cannstatt as a Neckar town, royal town, literary town, home town and much more.

Other topics include bathing life, the beginnings of industrialization and examples of prominent "Cannstatter". The special exhibition "The King and his Horse" shows the history of the famous equestrian monument to King Wilhelm I in front of the Großer Kursaal from its creation to the present day.
