Armenian choreographer Rima Pipoyan enriches the Armenian Culture Days with a German premiere: the colors, symbols and history of the Armenian carpet are brought to life in an impressive language of movement.
In Voskor, Pipoyan takes up archaic myths and stories. The dance becomes a ritual between life and death, memory and rebirth. Movement, sound and light merge into an archaic-modern performance in which the body itself becomes the bearer of history.
Khali leads us into the world of Armenian carpets: Five women embody the colors of an ancient carpet - red, blue, white, yellow and green. Each color carries its own story, and yet the interplay creates a whole that tells of the passing down of generations. In this way, the centuries-old tradition of Armenian carpet art comes to life and becomes a symbol of remembrance and new beginnings.
