The Hammond Project (presented by HMDK Stuttgart)

What characterizes the sound of a Hammond organ? Is it the warmth? The alternation of slow and fast beats? The percussive touch?

Pianist and keyboardist Georg List invites you to discover an instrument whose variety of sounds is much appreciated in jazz, but also in rock, pop, soul, gospel, groove and funk. From the legendary Jimmy Smith and Joey DeFrancesco to Barbara Dennerlein and Cory Henry. Many musicians loved this wonderful instrument, which was originally only used as a substitute for church organs.

Together with guitarist Raphaela Okle and drummer Lino Gerhart, Georg List has prepared a special program. From jazz standards to groove classics and even one or two original compositions. The three students of the HMdK Stuttgart have gone to great lengths to present the unique character and versatility of the Hammond trio.
