The name says it all and is an obligation: With a rhythm section consisting of piano, double bass and drums and a brass section with two saxophones and two trombones, "The Jitterbug Bites" pass on the attitude to life of the time to their audience and are guaranteed to get the sparks flying.
Rhythm 'n' blues with a pinch of swing and a good dash of boogie woogie: in short, that's "Jump Blues", the musical style of "The Jitterbug Bites". This mixture was extremely popular in the 1940s and early 1950s and was particularly popular in jazz clubs. However, it was less for simply listening intellectually and more for having fun and shaking a leg. Fast dances such as the jitterbug, boogie woogie and lindy hop were booming in those days. Of course, slow, sentimental blues numbers were also popular from time to time to provide an opportunity for standing blues. After all, they also wanted a bit of physical contact...
Having fun with the music, with an audience that clapped, sang and danced along, always came first. And when the sparks finally flew at the gigs, when the music made the air crackle and the audience tingle, when nobody could sit still in their seats and started dancing, then they said: "the jitterbug bites".
