The tour traces the development of the Department of Culture over the over the last 75 years using selected documents.

On April 1, 1951, the Cultural Office of the City of Stuttgart was newly founded with four departments: General Administration, City Archive and City Hall Library, City Library and Art Collection. In 1988, the Cultural Office, which had previously been based in the town hall, moved into the building at Eichstraße 9. The tour traces the development of the Cultural Office over the last 75 years using selected documents. On the way through the entire building, you will get to know the various working areas of a municipal archive. In addition, the tour also takes you to areas of the municipal archive that are otherwise not open to the public.
