"Devi" by Subina Shrestha (Nepal/South Korea/United Kingdom / 2024 / 80 in / in Nepali with English subtitles) @ Museum Hegel-Haus, incl. Q&A with Subina Shrestha

Devi Khadka fights for justice: She collects the voices of survivors of sexual war violence in Nepal, while the government wants to bury the truth. In 1997, seventeen-year-old Devi herself was arrested, tortured and tortured. Today, she is the public face of the survivors - even though her teenage daughter only wants a mother.

The film shows Devi's intimate journey: Her confrontations, her vulnerability, her reconstruction of erased history.
