A funeral service is held twice a year for the "smallest of the small". The town of Stuttgrat has set up a communal burial site for these "star children". Children weighing less than 500 grams are buried there anonymously in an urn, unless the parents have opted for an individual burial. The funeral service begins at the large staircase in front of the ceremony hall. Of course, those affected who do not belong to a church or another religion are also invited.
