Very different from the various varieties of modern European poetry, modern American poetry refers to the established tradition - without any compulsion to make an avant-garde break, without any obligation towards inherited forms. But instead with a grass-green joy of novelty and the relaxed permission to tie in with the remnants of transatlantic identity. Added to this - as an objection, counter-sound, subculture - are the influences of indigenous and black positions. An extremely fruitful mix that seems almost improbable in the current political situation. And a valuable treasure that we want to unearth together.
