Ever since his accolade as musical director of José Feliciano's band, Ulrich Ellison has been playing in the world league of blues rock guitarists. Tonight, the Lab audience can look forward to his dynamic performance.

The Austrian with Irish ancestors first became known in his adopted home of Austin, Texas, when he won three prizes at the Austin Music Awards in 2015 and 2016, including being the first European to win in the Best Guitarist category.
In addition to working with Feliciano, Ellison has also collaborated with Tommy Shannon (SRV, Johnny Winter), Chris Farlowe (Collosseum) and bassist Billy Sheehan.
The new album already features an extremely strong single, "Do What Your Mama Says", on which none other than Kenny Aronoff (Joe Satriani, Jon Bon Jovi, John Fogerty, Smashing Pumkins, etc.) swings the drumsticks.
His nine albums show Ellison's enormous range. His playing is always based on the blues, but this does not prevent him from forays into rock, Americana, soul and ethno-fusion. His enormous joy of playing, his charm and the dynamics of his performance are always in the foreground.
